In past years I’ve been fortunate to celebrate Mother’s Day sipping hot chocolate in Vienna, hiking Tucson’s Sabino Canyon, and riding a historic train in Colorado. But my very first Mother’s Day, back in 2009, was celebrated at the beautiful The Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch.
Ever spring, March through May, The Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch displays the most amazing array of Ranunculus flowers. Overlooking the Pacific Ocean, the 50-acre hillside is a rainbow of red, orange, and yellow. The flowers are native to Asia minor but introduced by an English horticulturist, Luther Gage.
Where will you be spending your Mother’s Day this year?
