Hiking with Kids :: Montaña de Oro State Park
Needing a break from the hustle and bustle of city life, we took a short weekend trip to Central California’s, Montaña de Oro State Park.
Located just south of Morro Bay and situated along the rocky coast of the Pacific Ocean, the park has one of the longest uninterrupted, preserved and undeveloped coastal areas of publicly owned land in California.
As a family we love to hike and explore new places. What makes it even more exciting is visiting somewhere new and undiscovered.
As we hiked the meandering trails and paths, our kids enjoyed exploring the sagebrush and chaparral covered fields without dealing with the mobs of people that clog so many popular hiking spots in Southern California.
Walking the cliffs we took our time and stepped carefully. We even snuck in a family photo with the awe-inspiring views.
